The privilegio for your top paired with nanoflex bib short have provided me with excellent comfort for the cooler days of the past few weeks of october. The nanoflex bibs shorts are a stand out because the inside of the bibs are fleeced lined and the outside is water resistant. This paired with some leg warmers is the perfect combination for the foulest months that northern california has for us. Don’t get stuck inside this winter, get these bibs and liberate your self. Also, Castelli does a great job at offering proper race cut for riders that do not fit the club/american cut. So if you have a hard time finding a jersey that fits, much like me, then i think you should give castelli a spot on your short list of apparel companies.

These next coming months will start to show some of the winter base miles, post two-months of weight training. Compared to last year i have noticed a higher degree of fitness this time around. I can only hope that this will be a good precursor to a stellar next season.

I’ll try to keep this updated as much as possible.

taeblog:

Its a hard sport and even the best don’t always have their two feet on the ground. It is a great learning experience and i highly recommend anyone that has a chance to do it!

the next day after i got back from camp i went a raced the San Rafael twilight criterium. being fresh of an exhausting camp, i went into it with ambitions to win this rodeo. and i set out to try to do just that. a few laps into the race a rider went off that belonged to a team that was well represented in the field, and then another racer went with him that was part of a team that was also well represented. being solo, i knew that i had to go up there and this might be the break of the day. I quickly bridged up and brought another rider with me. we got organized and started to slowly rotate through. a few laps later we established the break at 8 seconds. It seemed like the field was going to let us have a little leash. a few laps later two more riders bridged up, and now we were six and our time was increasing. 10 seconds, then 13, then 16. then two more riders made it up to us. now it was at 20. in the peloton behind dolce vita was left out of the fun. with the race now reaching a halfway point, panic consumed their 5 riders and a furious chase started. They slowly reeled us back in by 5 to go, but at the cost of four of their riders and more than half the field. it was now 16 of us, with two SJBC and three Squadra. by lap three Squadra had gotten organized, and i was towards the back on the outside boxed in along the curb. That was the end of my race. the field was strung out along the back side of the course, with no room to move up. i came in 9th.

The next day i raced CCCX 3/4 race and the intention to race CCCX 1/2/3. The new course was pretty similar to the San Rafael crit but with a west wind. after a full week of USAC camp and the race from the previous day my legs were shot. but i tried to block that out and try to force my legs to deal with it. they didn’t the winning break went off on the second lap, and it quickly gained a minute on the field. many attempts to bridge up were made but no one could make anything stick. Coming up the back side of the climb coming into the bell lap i tried a last ditch attack to try to see if the field was tired enough to let me go. but it was futile and there was still plenty of chase in the group. up the last climb i tried to position myself on the outside line for the rider that opened up the spring early. i was on the wheel of the rider who won the field sprint, but i was cut off early from the riders in the front. i ended up 12th.

fuckyeahcycling:

Since this bike grabs some serious attention on the street, we decided to let you know a little bit about it and its owner…

GNARLUBE would like to introduce you to Jay #GNAR. On a scale of 1-10 on his bike/life, Jay is an 8. He is the GNARLUBE headquarters leading cyclist on rides 2 hours or less and likes to chase STRAVA trophies when he is not strapped to his desk. In this photo he is straddling his leading lady, whom has not yet been named. She is a Land Shark carbon bicycle hand built by world famous John Slawta. The out of control candy colored abstract paint job was done by John’s daughter Sara Slawta. Like her father she too is an incredible artist whom spends tons of her time filling sketch books with similar art and likable famous quotes!

The bike that was built by Velo Hangar’s bike mechanic extraordinaire Gordon Yeager shifts flawlessly with its Shimano Ultagra di2, and steers with precision with its ENVY bars and stem. The finishing touch is the purple fi’zi:k seat that Jay trusts his balls and butt too.

Jay is wearing a sweet mix matched GNARLUBE Chain Drop kit from our Spring 2012 line and believes is the #powerofthepinksocks.
